The deafening silence following my last post screams of a general lack of interest in celery root. What can I say? This is a tough crowd. I told you I was going to be busy this week. Sometimes I have to resort to “Guess This Vegetable”.
My son and his girlfriend arrived Saturday morning and we have walked them many a mile since their plane touched down. We walked down the Champs, through the Tuileries, around the Louvre (exterior only, although we did peek through the pyramid into the museum), to and through Notre-Dame, around the Marais, down ritzy Faubourg-St. Honore, and through the new Matisse exhibit at the Pompidou. I think we have worn them out.
The two newest guests arrived today and are about to begin their own walkathon through Paris this afternoon. Fortunately, the sun will be shining on their sleepy heads as we plod through the beauty that is Paris.
Enjoy the slideshow. No ugly vegetables will be featured due to unfavorable reviews.
Well if makes you feel better about your celery root post Kate, I was inspired to buy some yesterday and try your recipe. Unfortunately I didn’t get as far as asking the grocery store produce manager where it was and I couldn’t find it on my own. Next time!
Aw- thanks, Kathy! You’re the best!
Enjoy your boy!
Looks like fun in Paris! Patrick and his girlfriend look so cute together!

I really like the mermaid fountain. It must be new(at least since last summer)
Looks like fun for theses spring breakers. (is that a word?)
Actually, I have asked lots of people about celery root, and noone has ever known what it is. So, thank you>>>>it is in a couple of my french books that have recipes. Have no clue where to find it in Houston, but now I know what it looks like. So, see, someone was very interested!
Woo hoo! Celery root rules!
Giant Godiva egg vs celery root? C’mon Kate, don’t be so hard on us! Actually I am considering trying it- sometime soon. Have fun with your visitors. Glad the sun is shining. More rain in Houston over the past weekend. It has taken only 72 days this year to get as much rain as it took 300++ days last year. But I am not complaining…
Well, when you put it that way…. I guess I would have to go with Godiva, too.
