Marathon

I can’t believe it has been a year since I visited Paris and cheered my husband and  my good friend across the Paris Marathon finish line!  Last Sunday was Marathon Day again, and this time my husband joined me in cheering on masses of colored shirts and contorted faces.  This year’s weather was much more conducive to running than the 80-something degrees of last year, but it still looked damn hard to me.

The skies looked ominous that morning, but amazingly, it never rained.

So cool to have the Champs-Elysees closed to traffic that morning! I vote they do it every Sunday!

My favorite part of this picture is the champagne balloon. Where else but Paris?

It’s so cool that people can do that, isn’t it?

Keep running your own race, friends.  My personal mantra: Slow and steady wins the race. And champagne makes it that much more enjoyable.

Cheers!
