Have I mentioned that I keep running into Julia Roberts here in Paris? It’s getting to be kind of humorous- every time I turn around, there she is! At bus stops, on buses, on magazine kiosks – Julia is everywhere!
It’s a good thing I am a fan. It’s also a good thing that they didn’t much re-touching on this photo of Julia, because Lancome got into trouble in the UK in July of 2011 for too much air-brushing in a previous campaign with the Pretty Woman. Here is one of the offending photos.
As you can see, she looks much more like your average woman on the street in the new campaign. You probably wouldn’t even give her a second look if you passed her on the metro, right? Do you think that the strategic placement of her billowing hair is covering a starburst of lines in the corners of her eyes?
Whatever. I love Julia Roberts and I think she is gorgeous, with or without airbrushing. I tried the perfume at the duty-free shop in the Nice airport, however, and it was a bit too sweet for my taste.
Is this ad campaign big in the U.S., too?

Yes, she’s everywhere. A lot of ads on tv is what I have noticed. Since I live in Houston, I am not on the street much to see the bus ads (does metro even do those) or on the streets of downtown. 🙂
